Welcome to Imutest - The Self-Test Allergy Website

Imutest is a unique range of self-diagnosis test products designed to help you identify your allergy problems.  This can be done in the comfort of your own home with results available in 30 minutes.

Allergy in the U.K.

The incidence of common allergic diseases has trebled in the last 20 years and about a third of the UK population will develop symptoms due to allergy at some point in their lives.

Allergies result from a heightened or altered reactivity of the immune system in response to external substances called allergens that may enter the body by inhalation, swallowing, injection or contact with the skin, eyes or airways.

Symptoms of allergy can be very unpleasant and include sneezing, shortness of breath, itching, rashes (hives), sickness and abdominal or digestive problems.  In extreme cases serious breathing conditions and a very serious condition called anaphylaxis can occur.

Self Testing for Allergy

If you think you may be suffering from an allergic reaction, it is important to identify the source of the problem.  Imutest can help you do this, or alternatively a negative result can reassure you that you do not have a true allergy.

When testing for allergies, detecting increased levels of IgE (the “allergy” antibody) in the blood is the most relevant test.  This is what Imutest does, and our tests have shown a high level of accuracy when compared to “gold standard” laboratory methods.

The Imutest Product Range

Allergy-Check is a general test that will indicate if you have a high level of IgE antibodies in your blood, which is an indicator of an allergic condition. Click here to buy Allergy Check Online.

The Imutest specific allergy range covers several of the most common allergens. Click on one of the following test kits to buy online:

Dust mite     Pollen (Hay fever)     Cat     Milk     Egg

And Imutest is quick, simple and safe to use.  You do not need to visit your GP or a clinic to have blood taken. The tests include a sterile, single-use lancet that you use to collect a small drop of blood from your finger, and are carried out in the privacy of your own home.  If the result of the test is positive, the instructions may advise you to seek medical advice and work with health professionals to manage your allergy or you can take action yourself to minimise exposure to the allergen concerned.
