See below for further product information.
Ochratoxin A is amycotoxin produced by the fungus Aspergillus ochraceous and also by several species of Penicillium fungi. Frequently found in green coffee, ochratoxin A will remain present even after the roasting process.
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is also commonly found in wine, baby food, raw and processed cereals, coffee and dried vine fruits - all of which are regulated by worldwide at levels as low as 0.5 ppb. Known to cause kidney damage in animals and as a carcinogen, OTA finds its way into human and animal diets not only from EU-regulated commodities, but also from barley, oats, and sorghum.
OchraTest is safe and simple. It can be performed in less than 10 minutes and requires no special skills. Results may be recorded using a fluorometer or obtained using HPLC.
OchraTest can be used with a fluorometer for rapiud results but is also ideal as the cleanup step for any HPLC analysis. Unaffected by heat or humidity, OchraTest has a long shelf life. With OchraTest, you have the best of all worlds: sensitivity, simplicity, and speed - quick tests for parts per billion levels. In fact, no other test comes close for speed, quantification, and economy.
- Convenient - For use with fluorometer or HPLC
- Durable - Long shelf life; requires no refrigeration
- Versatile - Can be used with a variety of samples

Using monoclonal antibody-based affinity chromatography, OchraTest™WB is an HPLC-only test for the detection of ochratoxin A using wide bore immunoaffinity columns.
-
With a total volume of 3mL, compared to the total of 1mL in VICAM’s standard columns, OchraTest WB allows for the faster flow rate preferred by many laboratories and is the ideal cleanup step for any HPLC.
OchraTest WB is one of many wide bore columns available from VICAM.
